*Notice and Wonder Protocol:  CRCT
How can we use this data?
a.       Look at “bright spots” on your team….which classes had significantly more students scoring in Level 3 in certain subject areas?  Talk as a team about what’s happening in those classes in those subjects?
Reading:
Notice:
Denise:  I notice that Denise has the lowest reading scores.
Laura:  I noticed that no one scored in level
Jennifer:  level 3 outweighs the 2
Denise:  Inclusion and Pull out classes outweigh all the other classes

Wonder:
What is Denise not doing?
Denise: I wonder the number of TAG kids are in each class.
Linda: I wonder if the ratio of 504/TAG are similar?
Sarah:  If I had done more review on each test from the previous test would some of my students have done better?
Laura:  If I had had ESOL support would my ESL students would have done better?
I wonder which classes do literature circles vs. not and if that affected the scores?
Heather:  I wonder if the more traditional style teachers/non traditional style affect how students do on the CRCT?

What did teachers do?
more spiral and integration, chose harder lit. circle jobs, chose more novels
Monday-vocab, read independent
Tuesday - read in small group
mastery connect

ELA:
Notice/wonder:
I notice that the language arts scores are overall lower.
I wonder if they question type made it hard for our students?

What did teachers do?
separate and drill until they know and then integrate into other areas with activities to show their learning.
This (ELA) should be a goal for our grade level this year?

Science:
I wonder if our scores improved from last year since we integrated more sci/ss into our reading?

What did teachers do?
vocabulary flash cards, a lot of hands on , no study guides, drill vocabulary and then activity

SS:
Notice/Wonder:
Similar to science

What did teachers do?
Drill people, spiral throuout the year, put the people in order to relate them
Integrated reading a to z books in reading related to SS
Used the state rug to integrate rivers, people where they lived etc.
Drilled the branches of government and previous content-spiraled
Utilized Denise's worksheet to review content, review quizes in ss text (with 4 questions)
Trashion show:  Laura and Heather will load the chairs outside
LABEL YOUR CHAIRS WITH TAPE SO YOU CAN GET THEM BACK!
Practice @ 9:30
